Claims create expectations

Customers and partners may rely on statements about endpoint protection, control operation, or the handling of sensitive information. A statement becomes more useful when its supporting evidence is identifiable and its scope is clear. Otherwise, the reader may interpret a general assurance as a conclusion the organization never actually verified.

Start with the claim

The QILAHK approach begins by defining what must be demonstrated. From there, a Trust Profile identifies the criteria and evidence required to evaluate the claim. Verification examines the available material, and the decision records whether the evidence supports the claim within scope, leaves questions open, or does not support the proposed conclusion.

A business example

A supplier says that a defined group of devices uses an agreed boot security configuration. Supporting that statement requires evidence tied to those devices, relevant collection times, and a review against the specified configuration criteria. A generic policy or a screenshot from one different device may provide context but cannot silently stand in for the required evidence.

The difference for the reader

Connecting claims to proof lets a buyer ask focused questions and understand the basis for reliance. It also helps the supplier communicate precisely and avoid overstatement. The result is a better-supported assurance, not a guarantee against every incident or a substitute for requirements outside the assessment’s scope.
